TMRC just launched a fantastic new website with everything anyone needs to know about TMRC and the many events we have.
We are new on the Facebook scene and have only have a handful followers.
We have a vast array of activities here for our residents which include our Degree Team that travels around the area and confers the Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, & Master Masons degree made up of our residents.
Also we would wish to promote Masonic Family Day, October 20, 2012.
Please take a few moments to check out the new website and "Like" the Facebook page!

Brethren:
This year I am getting a head start on coordinating our Annual Wallace Hughston Bicycle Drive for 2011. Our goal this is to provide 30 bicycles for low income children who do not own a bicycle. Three years ago when we launched this event we gave away 12 bicycles, and every year the number has increased – last year we gave away 25 bicycles and each came with a riding helmet. I have not conferred with our WM to see which elementary will be the recipient of the bikes, but rest assured they go to low income children. The school administration does a very good job in selecting kids based on financial need and they also insure that kids do not draw gifts from multiple organizations. For these kids to get a bicycle for Christmas it would be like us waking up and finding a brand new Corvette parked in our driveway. Although I know I won’t be getting a Corvette for Christmas, I draw great joy and humility in being able to coordinate this year’s bicycle drive.
I hope everyone will be in a financial position to make a donation this year. Also I encourage everyone to come out and assist in giving away the bicycles – smiles a mile wide!
A main reason for sending this email early is because most stores put their bikes on clearance soon after Labor Day and as Christmas draws near their prices go back to full price. So right now is the best time to buy a bicycle. In some stores you can practically buy 2 bicycles for the price of 1. Additionally, it’s easier to plan ahead financially and make a donation before the Holiday’s are upon us. Any donation is greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing shiny bicycles at Wallace Hughston.
God Bless and Take Care.

On September 17th 2011, Patterson Lodge #1177 will host its First Annual Hair Raising BBQ Plate Sale to benefit the Locks of Love program. Locks of Love http://www.locksoflove.org/index.html is a wonderful organization that strives to help cancer stricken children. Their aim is to “return a sense of self confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails, to provide the highest quality of hair prosthetic to financially disadvantaged children.”
· The tickets for this event will cost $10ea and will include: ½ chicken, sausage, rice, beans, and the fixin’s.
· We will also be taking hair donations at this event. The requirements are that the hair be a minimum of 10 inches in length, clean, and in a ponytail. There will be a hairstylist on hand from 1pm-5pm, or if you prefer, you can have your hair cut at your trusted barber/stylist and have them place the ponytail in a Ziploc bag for you.
The event will be held at Patterson Lodge from 10am-5pm, and the BBQ plates can be picked up during those hours. All donations received, follicle and monetary, will go to Locks of Love, to help put a smile on a child’s face and make them feel special.
Your support and generosity is paramount to the success of this fundraiser. We look forward to whatever support you can provide and we hope that you will join us on September 17th for this event. I thank you for your time and generosity.
Fraternally,
J. Robert Rodriguez, W.M.

On April 16, 2011, Red Oak Masonic Lodge #461 co-sponsored a Classic Car Show in Red Oak, Texas. Held at Carl's Automotive on Highway 342, the event brought in over twenty-five reconditioned classic and custom automobiles for the vistors to enjoy.
In addition, an auction was conducted to help raise funds for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas. The exact amount collected towards supporting the children is estimated to exceed $1000.00.
Carl, the owner of Carl's Automotive has been an extremely dedicated to the Red Oakj Lodge and the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. His involvement has been instrumental in two successive yearly events of this nature.
This is one of the primary events in which the Red Oak Lodge No 461 is involved. In addition, they provide, for a fee, an American Flag to companies and individuals who participate, during National Holidays. It is truly a heart-warming sight to see over one hundred and fifty American Flags flying in the breeze.
