The Brothers of Zavala Lodge No. 1059 recognized an immediate need for school supplies for the first day of school at an elementary school in their neighborhood and decided to do something about it – ‘passing the hat’ at a recent Lodge meeting, raising $400 in donations on the spot, as well as a significant donation of school supplies shortly thereafter from another Zavala brother. In attendance were Charles A. Gill Elementary School Principal, Brenda Armour accepting a $400 check from Zavala W:.M:. Richard A. [Rick] Mick on August 23rd, the opening day of the new school year.
