What happened to the Grand Lodge website? In layman's terms, it ate itself. Apparently the hard disk drive our website was stored on failed and took all of our information with it. How long before things are back to normal? It will likely be several weeks before we have the website back to normal functionality. Be patient, we're trying hard to get as much as we can restored. Why so long? The Grand Lodge website has continually been added on to for the past several years. When one of the GLIC members looked at a back-up of the website, he discovered over 11,000 (yes, that is an eleven followed by three zeros) files. That's a lot and it will just take time. Was the membership database lost? Fortunately, no. The membership databases are stored on a separate server and were not affected. |
Need help? Please do not contact the Grand Secretary with questions about the website being down. Trust us, he is very well aware of it. Our e-mail servers should be working now. If you need to get a hold of the Internet Committee, our email is glic@grandlodgeoftexas.org. If you need to get a hold of the Grand Secretary, his email is gs@grandlodgeoftexas.org. For now, all MCF's will have to be done the ol' fashioned way. Getting the online services back up is our top priority. |
